Looking for the best hotels in London Bridge? I've personally visited each and everyone one of these hotels to help you decide where to stay in the area.

London Bridge is a great area to stay in London if you're:
- flying into Gatwick Airport (direct train)
- want to explore Kent (direct trains from London Bridge station: here are the best day/ weekend trips from London Bridge by train)
- are a foodie: it has the BEST food in central London and is close to Borough Market, Maltby Spa Market, and Maltby Spa Terminus! I used to love West London and, even so, I have to say that the food scene is just so much better here.
- want to visit The Globe, Tate Modern, Tower Bridge etc
It is NOT an ideal place for you if you want to be located in a neighbourhood with the pretty English brick houses that you see on Instagram or if you want to be close to clothing shops!
All these London Bridge hotels are within walking distance of cafes and restaurants. (Click here for the best- and worst!- restaurants around London Bridge.) In terms of shopping, the London Bridge area isn't the best- however, there are 1-2 independent shops on Bermondsey Street.
Note: this list of hotels only focuses on properties on the same side of the river as London Bridge tube station. (There are more hotels across the river, near Tower Bridge/ Tower Hill tube station/ Fenchurch Street train station.)
Lalit Hotel *****

I was in 2 minds whether to post this as Lalit Hotel is somewhat of a hidden gem and I wanted to keep it for myself: it's central, beautiful and not too expensive for central London.
This Indian-owned boutique hotel is housed in a historic building which used to be a school. If you appreciate historic architecture, this is probably going to be the prettiest hotel on the list to you! (It's my fave!)
The interiors are also rather grand (though not 100% authentically British- I'd say it's a mix of British & Indian) and definitely have the most personality on this list.
It's the closest hotel on this list to Tower Bridge and a 6 minute walk to London Bridge train station.
The best things about this 70-room hotel (16-44 square metres):
- Earlier check-in at 2 pm!
- Later check-out at 12 noon!
- beautiful exterior and interiors
- from time to time, they run very good deals. I've seen rooms for under £200 which is amazing given the location!
- has a weekday Indian set lunch for £20!
- 24 hour fitness centre
- 24 hour room service
- very close to 2 supermarkets (Tesco and Sainsbury's)
The only thing I'd say could be improved is the spa staff: I once made a booking for an appointment, then received a call the day before to say they had double-booked, which I can somewhat understand. However, the way the call was handled was not very professional: I was informed that I could change the appointment to x o' clock instead of asked if I could make it at that time!
The treatment itself was not bad but pretty pricey as there's an additional service charged added on to the price, something I'd not experienced before.
Note: there may be extra charges for children- you will need to contact the hotel directly for their policy.
Address: 181 Tooley Street, Waterloo and Southwark, London, UK, SE1 2JR
Shang Ri La *****

If you're looking for a hotel that's close to London Bridge station (the tube/ Thameslink/ train station share the same location), it doesn't get any better than Shang ri La Hotel, which is literally right next door! (Thankfully, it is next to the "back" entrance of London Bridge tube/ train station, which is busy but not as teeming with crowds as the "front" entrance on Tooley Street), so you don't have to battle hordes of pedestrians to get back to your room.

I was a little disconcerted to have to go through a security screening to enter the hotel- similar to what is done at the airport- but given what a landmark The Shard is, it makes sense.
Obviously, prices here are on the very high side, and the main attraction is the Sky Pool (similar to Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.)
The best things about this hotel, which is 1 of the larger ones on this list with 202 rooms:
- the view of course: it starts on level 34 – 125 metres high – and occupies 18 floors of The Shard. (The gym is on the 52nd floor and the sauna has a view of London.)
- the infinity pool is the highest hotel pool in Western Europe (at the time of writing)!
- Despite the 200+ rooms, the hotel doesn't feel crowded.
Note: some of the rooms can see into each other...

Hilton London Bridge ****

If you're worried about staying on a side street and returning home after dark, Hilton London Bridge is the hotel for you. It's located right on Tooley Street, the main (and busiest) street in the London Bridge area, and diagonally opposite the London Bridge train station. (It's the 2nd closest hotel to the station on this list, after Shang ri La.)
Personally, this is my least favorite hotel on the list as I prefer boutique hotels and don't like being on such a busy street but my Mom is a fan 😛

Residence Inn by Marriott

The best things about this hotel:
- in-room kitchenettes
- complimentary breakfast
- Laundry facilities (though some dryers can have problems)
- Later check-out at 12 noon (Check-in at 3 pm)
- They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom suites, perfect for small groups traveling together.
- located just off Bermondsey Street (so very close to the cool street but off to the side. There's a Gails bakery a stone's throw from the hotel.) Note that this does mean Bermondsey Street-facing rooms will get quite a bit of noise. (Bermondsey Street is packed with restaurants and drinking places and gets quite rowdy.)

Personally I'm OK with the location as I'm familiar with the area but some people (like my Mom) may find the entrance down the alley an issue.

Note that there are also sometimes issues with the smell and water pressure in the bathrooms unfortunately...

The Dixon, Tower Bridge, Autograph Collection ****
The Dixon is just down the road from the Lalit Hotel. I like how the area around it is a little quieter (but not so far away/ quiet as to be scary for a solo female traveler of color.)
One of the newer hotels around London Bridge, the building is Grade-II listed and dates back to 1905, when it served as the Tower Bridge Magistrates Court so, like Lalit, it has a unique charm.
With 193 rooms, it's also a good place to get afternoon tea around London Bridge. (It ties with Lalit as my favorite on this list: Shang is great but a tad too pricey for a freelance writer!)
Bermondsey Square Hotel ****
This hotel is a little further away from London Bridge station, but still within walking distance. (Somewhat confusingly, despite its name, it's closer to London Bridge or Borough stations than Bermondsey station.)
It's a more intimate hotel, with only 90 rooms, and is one of the cheapest options here (tied with Premier Inn.) The best things about the hotel re:
- proximity to Bermondsey Street (the cutest/ most interesting street in the area)- it's at the end of the street, just further down from Residence Inn, so there are tons of good restaurants immediately near the hotel. (But it's about 5 minutes from a supermarket.)
- weekly antiques market on Friday: to be honest, the quality of the goods in the market has fallen a lot so it's very hit-or-miss. I've been many times and only managed to pick up things on 2 occasions- you'll need to be willing to browse through a lot of tat. On the bright side, there are free jazz performances from time to time! Typically from June to September but in 2026, it looks like it'll be a one day event in July.
- the shared lounge with a large flat-screen TV for guests to relax
- air-conditioned rooms (you can adjust the temperature to your liking; between 22-31 square meters)
The Check-in/ out times are standard: 3 pm Check in; 11 am check out.
Premier Inn London Tower Bridge ***

Premier Inn Hotel is the furthest from London Bridge station, though still within walking distance.
It's located on Tower Bridge Road which is quieter than Tooley Street. The first time I walked down the street after dark I felt rather uneasy. (An alternative way to get to the hotel from London Bridge station is to go down Bermondsey Street, then on to Tanner Street, which will take you to Tower Bridge Road.
Correspondingly, prices are also on the lower side.
